Works in Progress

Here are a few pieces I'm in the process of working on. Since August I've been painting completely from life and from natural daylight. While this is probably my favorite way to work visually, logistically it gets difficult. The light always changes or its a rainy day when it needs to be sunny or a sunny day when it needs to be rainy. That being said I am going to switch over to working from photos and doing some still life setups using artificial light.

Procrastination punched in the face

After almost 2 years I am finally updating this bad boy. New year's resolution: be consistent about posting on the blog/other social media. So on that note, here are some paintings in various stages of doneness.

Also this October I officially have a show coming up at Clementine Cafe' in Harrisonburg. More post about that will be coming as the it gets closer.

In progress...

A painiting I started back in May. I am not able to work from life on it anymore so I've been having a hard time getting motivated to work on it. It WILL be completed though before the summer is over!

Dog Commission

This was a commission I did for my friend Aaron. It is a painting of his Golden Retriever, Dutchess. He gave it to his dad for Father's day. I'm always open to commissions like this.

Messing around with Corel Painter

#15-16

I need to figure out how to better photograph these. The colors are defintely a little more vibrant in real life.

Watercolor Sketches #5-11

I'm trying to keep these down to 30 minutes, but most of them have ended up being about an hour so far. There're all about 9x6 in.

More stuff from Break

The following 3 posts are more stuff from winter break.

This one may just be a sketch, but I was really happy with it because this is the best picture I've done where the subjects were moving. They really were playing a game of cards in front of me.

Sketches #1-3

I have been messing around with watercolor alot lately, and these are some of the better images I've come up with. All are about 9x6 on cold press watercolor paper.
